Point of Lay Pullets
We usually have a variety of point of lay pullets available, you can mix the breeds to create your own designer flock, it’s the character of the pullet that will decide who gets on with one another and not the breed of pullet.
They are all hybrids (a cross of two purebred hens) and are variations of Rhode Island Red, Light Sussex, Maran and Barred Plymouth Rock etc. We do not sell purebreeds or Bantams. Each pullet goes through a vaccination programme before she reaches us, this does not have to be repeated at anytime. We advise that they are wormed regularly.
We're dedicated to providing you with healthy, happy hens, they are sold with a two week guarantee (unfortunately not against Mr Fox or a nasty dog!) and come with a lifetime of free advice.

Amber Lee
The new Amber Lee is another prolific layer from the Meadowsweet range, she is a beautiful cream colour, some have a champagne colour look to them while others range in shade from white to cream, many have brown speckles. Ideally suited for the garden or allotment she makes a great pet with her friendly and inquisitive nature. She is equal to the Goldline in the laying scale.

Black Star
She has a beautiful iridescent plumage showing green and purple in the sunlight, some are jet black and others have the Rhode Island Red feathering coming through mainly on their chest. A good layer at around 300+ of a good sized brown egg. The Black Star is a good all round hen ideal for family life.

Bluebelle
The beautiful Bluebelle is derived from a Maran and Rhode Island Red. She comes in all varieties of grey colour from almost violet to dark steel grey. She has a very placid and sweet nature and will lay about 250 brown eggs that are described as having a plum blush.

Goldline
This Rhode Island Red cross Light Sussex hen can be the most friendly of all the hens available, she will be eating out your hand within hours. Not only is she very friendly, she lays the most eggs too 330+ brown eggs in her first year. A very hardy hen with beautiful shades of brown and cream feathering she is ideally suited for first time and young keepers but with her cheeky and inquisitive nature she will please everyone.

Speckled Star
A Maran cross Barred Plymouth Rock, the Speckled Star is a very docile hen. Slightly larger than the others she is an excellent layer of speckled brown eggs. Silky and soft to the touch she has a beautiful full plumage. The Speckled Star will lay around 270 eggs in her first year.

Sussex Star
Sussex Star has been bred to be a dual purpose bird from the Light Sussex and Rhode Island Red. A utility bird that manages to look good with a lovely calm nature. She is very attractive white bird with a black collar and tail feathers. She will lay about 260+ eggs in her first year which can be either white or brown - it all depends on her ears!

White Star
Also known as the little ballerina, this beautiful snow white hen lays around 320+ large china white eggs in her first year. She is neat and compact compared to some of the other breeds but what she loses in size she makes up for in personality. Of all the breeds this little hen can often be quite flighty.

Skyline
We have the blue egg laying Skyline in at the moment, laying 270+ blue eggs in her first year she is unusual in that she has a mop type hair do. As with all hybrids she comes in a variety of colours from brown to grey and every variation in between. They have an 80% guarantee to lay a blue or pastel coloured egg.
